EXHIBITION OF FRIDA COLLECTION IN THE CINEMATOGRAPHY MUSEUM IN ŁÓDŹ
Take a moment to think about an intriguing journey to the world of Mexico, the world of the extraordinary artist Frida Kahlo. Feel the surrounding colors, the beauty of nature, the joy and sadness of everyday life, the tradition combined with modernity.
It was the world seen through the eyes of Frida that inspired Isabel March to create Frida’s project, which consists of a collection of thirteen avant-garde folk haute couture dresses and a series of photographs that are an original interpretation of the artist’s thirteen self-portraits.
Carefully chosen tonality, a combination of shades of fabrics and accessories are to visualize the impressions of color patches visible on images. Colorful silks, numerous lace and tassels in a different tone tell a story about femininity, folk and art.
The goal of the project is to tell a story about a woman who is extremely colorful spiritually and physically and who is filled with sadness and unattainable dreams, and about belonging to the tradition of Mexico, told by a Polish artist living in Paris
